Primary Responsibilities:Manage merger and acquisition real estate pipelineProvide customer relationship management across business segments specifically supporting UnitedHealth Group, Optum and UnitedHealthcare Corporate Development and Legal teamsComplete real estate due diligence review of Target Company including lease analysis, site assessments, and real estate operationsIdentify potential real estate risk, immediate needs, and opportunitiesIdentify and drive value for UnitedHealth GroupProvide governance and oversight to the functions supporting due diligence and integrationCoordinate and manage alliance partner support, performance and activitiesWork across the Real Estate Services team including collaboration with Portfolio Management, Portfolio Services, Portfolio Operations and Portfolio Finance to plan for transitioning newly acquired companies real estate into the RES shared services modelInteract and collaborate with other UnitedHealth Group, UnitedHealthcare, and Optum departments to provide due diligence and integration support of newly acquired companiesAlign merger and acquisition activity with business drivers and requirements to drive portfolio planning and capital management at an enterprise level as well as identifying operating expenses to reflect planned service levelsDevelop metrics-based management and reporting to manage and measure effectiveness of acquisition due diligence and integration functions
Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Business, Legal Studies, Pre-Law, Engineering, Project Management or equivalent experience10+ years of commercial real estate or legal experience including experience with mergers and/or acquisitionsExperience working in a dynamic and matrix-oriented environmentStrong financial discipline and analytical approach to problem solvingProficiency in applying sound financial principles to drive disciplined fact-based decisionsExperience with purchasing, negotiations, and contract management Preferred Qualifications:Master's degree in Business or Legal degreeSix Sigma experience, training, and/or certificationExperience with mergers and/or acquisitions in patient facing facilities UnitedHealth Group is working to create the health care system of tomorrow.
