This position is primarily responsible for the installation, maintenance and servicing of company manufactured instrumentation and accessories. The ideal candidate will have experience in electronics as well as vacuum related technologies. The position does require travel, some of which may be for an extended time period and internationally, particularly early during the training. The work requires being able to be self-sufficient while working on-site although a service support system is provided from the company’s facilities in Chestnut Ridge, NY. The position does require some self-determined scheduling as appropriate.
There are three main types of work that the position is responsible for:
For an installation, the work requires the removal of the equipment from shipping containers, location and re-assembly of the instrument, testing and demonstration of compliance with the company approved performance specifications as defined.
For service, the work requires the identification of potential faults followed by correction of these faults through the optimal use of replacement parts.
For maintenance the work requires implementation of company approved maintenance schedules and procedures. In addition it requires the identification and correction of potential faults to increase product uptime.
In addition from time to time it may be necessary to undertake site evaluations prior to equipment installation if requested. Prepare a report of the findings with recommendations for corrective action.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with a Master’s or higher desirable. Experience with company instrumentation is preferred but not required. Existing experience working on comparable technology will be a benefit, although full training will be provided.
Travel is required, (up to ~75%), with some extended travel required (3 - 4 weeks). Most travel is domestic with some international travel (for training purposes).
The successful candidate must be able to work in the US, and ideally possess US citizenship to enable work on US government contracts that the company undertakes.
