Postoctoral Fellow Full Time -: Stem cell applications in Bone Bioengineering - (170001V5)
A postdoctoral fellow position is available immediately in the Zalzman Laboratory, in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and the Center for Stem Cell Biology & Regenerative Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology is a research-intensive department, which is routinely ranked at the top 15% in the United States.
The Zalzman laboratory studies novel mechanisms governing cellular lifespan. The project goal of this fellowship position is to restore the potential of aged adult stem cells in order to generate bone grafts suitable for the treatment of degenerative bone diseases and bone reconstructive surgeries. The position will also involve collaboration with other laboratories in the department, as well as laboratories in the Department of Bioengineering in University of Maryland College Park.
We are seeking for self-motivated candidates with a strong work ethic who have recently obtained his/her Ph.D. in the biomedical field. Candidates with background and experience in bioengineering and bioreactors are preferred. Candidates must have interest in bone bioengineering, stem cell biology, molecular biology or related field with a strong publication record in these areas. A thorough knowledge of the English language with good writing and oral communication skills are required as well as the ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
