This position serves at a regulatory compliance analyst, educator and manager who exercises operational responsibility on a daily basis for the OHRE and IRBs charged with protecting the rights and welfare of human research participants. Responsible, either directly or through managing others, for ensuring that IRB protocols satisfy federal regulations, guidelines and institutional requirements.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the field assigned and one year of related training or experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Independent decision making and the ability to make good judgements are critical. Knowledge of the federal laws and regulations governing the conduct of research with human subjects is essential (21 and 45 CFR). Exceptional oral and written communication skills. Ability to learn and use complex computer systems/databases. Attention to detail and accuracy in reporting the actions of the IRB’s are essential.
Master’s degree in biomedical, social or behavioral science desirable. Minimum of 2 years working in human research protections with an institutional review board. Experience working with investigators in a complex research environment is preferred.
