Assistant/Associate Professor, Nutrition Science Full-Time, Tenure-Track Position Fall 2018
Dominican University seeks applicants for a tenure-track position in Nutrition Science at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor to begin August 2018. Primary responsibilities include teaching courses in Nutrition Science at the graduate and undergraduate level, as well as seminar courses for the Coordinated Program supervised practice; and working with and directing research of students at the undergraduate and graduate level. Other responsibilities include advising undergraduate and graduate students and maintaining professional competency and skills required for professional and academic practice. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching at all levels and to working with students on research, especially for the MS program. Candidate must be willing to provide students with opportunities to participate in high impact practices; such as undergraduate or graduate research.
The successful candidate will also establish working relationships with new colleagues in the College of Health Sciences, develop relationships with local/regional food and nutrition related businesses to benefit the program, and facilitate the development of volunteer opportunities in the community. All faculty members are expected to participate in University life and governance, as well as continuing professional development and scholarship.

Qualifications: Required qualifications: A doctoral degree in food and nutrition with a related area of expertise? minimum of 5 years relevant teaching experience; excellent classroom and interpersonal skills; a record of research through publications and conference presentations Preferred qualifications: Credentialing as a R.D.N; experience with distance and/or hybrid educational delivery formats; proven administrative and organizational skills; a record of working successfully with a diverse student population; and a demonstrated commitment to improving access to higher education for disadvantaged students.
