Venable LLP is seeking an Audiovisual Manager to be responsible for the successful daily operations of all audiovisual (AV) and video teleconference (VTC) systems throughout the firm, working closely with the Collaborative Communications Engineering team. The incumbent is also responsible for developing, implementing, and managing policies and procedures related to the maintenance, inventory, storage, and set-up/break down of AV and VTC equipment for all firm offices, to include general troubleshooting of related equipment/service issues/problems for all offices. Supervises assigned technical staff to ensure duties are being fulfilled and staff is supported thoroughly.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for... •Managing firm VTC services to ensure audio/video feed provided is of highest quality for all firm events and across multiple office locations. Monitor and maintain VTC endpoints and VTC infrastructure to ensure the highest quality performance to meet firm needs. Monitor and maintain VTC management systems and VTC scheduling software. •Making recommendations to maintain, improve and/or upgrade AV system configurations. •Performing periodic maintenance as necessary to ensure optimum function of equipment performance. •Working with AV vendors and contractors to develop maintenance contracts and contract renewals. •Coordinating installations as needed with the Collaborative Communications Engineering team, Telecommunications Manager and the Office Administrators/Managers. •Making recommendations for changes to hardware and infrastructure to improve AV and VTC services; make recommendations for software upgrades to enhance AV and VTC services. •Maintaining AV, VTC and related electronic equipment, systems and advanced media technologies for firm •Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs for AV and VTC related equipment.
The successful candidate will demonstrate... •Three to five years’ experience maintaining AV and VTC hardware systems. •Two years IT project management experience. •Previous experience in developing policies, procedures and best practices for use of AV and VTC systems on an enterprise level. •Two plus years’ experience managing a team of AV technicians. •A thorough knowledge of audiovisual and VTC technologies, design, installation, and maintenance. •Technical skills to troubleshoot AV, VTC and digital presentations problems/issues and determine when vendor maintenance is required. Must be able to perform basic repairs to AV and VTC equipment. •The ability to monitor, and maintain VTC endpoints, multi-point control units and infrastructure. •General network knowledge of Internet connections, network settings, external VPNs, LAN hubs/switches, and connections in network closets, and video communication protocols. •Ability to provide direction on use of shared presentation applications and protocols, including WebEx, ReadyTalk, Cisco Jabber Video, and H.239 duo-video. •Technical skills to assess user AV and VTC needs and make recommendations to meet the needs of the user at the local office and firm-wide level. •Ability to provide guidance on and complete understanding of event staging for large, high profile, on- and off-site events.
