Confirms and interprets physician referrals, performs patient assessments, plans and implements individualized treatment programs taking into account the patient’s developmental and/or chronological age and medical diagnoses in accordance with the regulations governing the principles and practice of Speech-Language Pathology.
May supervise Speech Language Pathology students as provided by State of Virginia licensure/practice standards and Federal regulations. Orients new employees and may provide guidance to volunteers, other students, support, or contract staff.
Education: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
Licensure/Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association oreligible to complete clinical fellowship year (CFY); Licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Other: Effective interpersonal, communication, customer service and teamwork skills required. BLS-certified (from a Carilion approved program) within six months of employment.
