Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Program Coordinator I for its Office of Research Regulatory Affairs. The incumbent in this position is responsible for operational activities related to U.S. export control regulations, DPL screening, classification, license application and database maintenance. The Program Coordinator I will implement export control regulations, including those applicable to commerce and defense, as they pertain to the Rutgers University export control policy.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
Provides export regulatory guidance to Rutgers University faculty, staff & students.
Assists in obtaining required documents for U.S. government applications.
Acts as liaison between staff, faculty and students and Rutgers export control officer.
Manages routine and emergency compliance tasks and inquiries.
Escalates issues as needed to the Rutgers export control officer.
Oversees the sanctioned party screening process to insure that issues are resolved timely and accurately.
Conducts self-audits to ensure compliance with the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) & the Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC).
Maintains & follows up on deemed exports, visitor requests, contracts, and endorsement forms.
Expedites ability to allow foreign nationals on campus, implementation of contracts and grants.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in business, international studies, or related field, plus 2 years' experience in a compliance or administrative capacity; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge of government affairs and regulatory issues.
Experience working with federal laws and regulations, in particular with U.S. export control regulations
Experience working in a university or college environment
Proven working knowledge of international business
