Develops, administers and monitors programs for compliance with laws, regulations, and rules governing to operations and product offerings for the Bank and Colonial Mortgage Company. Informs and educates appropriate personnel and Senior Management. Maintains and updates appropriate risk assessments, policies and procedures throughout the Bank. Serves as the Bank’s BSA and Training Officer. Provides updates to the Audit Committee/Board of Directors periodically.
Possess an overall knowledge of deposit, lending and BSA compliance.
Provide guidance on transactional issues as they arise with the help of legal counsel as needed.
Research questions and provide solutions to upcoming and existing regulations and their impact on the bank.
Plan, schedule, coordinate, and carry out an in-house compliance and BSA training program, including newly hired employees and members of the Board of Directors. Program will require annual review and updates as necessary to meet regulatory and operational changes.
Facilitates quarterly staff meetings to discuss, review and train all personnel on regulatory compliance current affairs.
Provide documentation and assistance to internal and external auditors when requested.
Perform 314 (a) checks through FinCen, and monitor other BSA reports as needed.
Maintain CTR filings and applicable documents
Investigate possible SAR related filings to determine necessity to file.
Plan, schedule and monitor high risk compliance areas.
Works with department supervisors to update bank policies and procedures, and present policy changes to the Board of Directors as needed
Researches federal and state banking laws and regulations, reviews the bank’s policies and procedures, and ensures bank compliance with laws and regulations.
Coordinates the bank’s disaster recovery program
Works with department managers to develop internal procedures to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.
Serves as BSA Officer and OFAC Officer. Develops, improves and fully implements the BSA/AML program.
Develops and implements a regulatory compliance internal training program to ensure all staff are properly trained in accordance with bank policy.
Tracks written customer complaints and ensures a timely bank response that adheres to regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures.
Establishes and maintains a network of bank compliance professionals.
