California State University San Marcos’s Art, Media and Design department seeks a part-time lecturer to teach VSAR 404 - Art and Web Design in Spring 2018. The course meets on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s from 10:00 am - 11:50 am and encompasses both lecture and lab. Faculty for this position must have knowledge of all aspects of net art, web-based communication, and the design of tactical media and extended experience in at least one of those. Qualified applicants will be versed in the theories of net art and have a unique creative practice designing for the web or making net art. Must also have a current portfolio of web-based media, either in an art context or with examples for clients. Net artists with ties to social justice and/or hacktivism are encouraged to apply.
MA or equivalent experience and knowledge of all aspects of net art, web based communication, and the design of tactical media, with extended experience in at least one of those areas; experience teaching web design and/or net art; current portfolio of web-based media, either in an art context or with examples for clients.
Applicants versed in the theories of net art, with a unique creative practice designing for the web or making net art.
Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated commitment to diversity and/or intercultural competence with diverse groups in relation to teaching.
