Forensics Services, a division of the Minnesota Department of Human Services located in St. Peter, Minnesota, is seeking a qualified and dynamic individual to join our team in an executive leadership position as our Nurse Executive (working title: Director of Nursing).
The Nurse Executive is the recognized nursing leader and expert within Forensics Services, as well as with our external stakeholders and various governing entities. The Nurse Executive is responsible for a broad set of policy-level action, decision making, problem solving, strategic management, and direction related to planning, finance, human resources, capital, technology, communication, and other resources. The Nurse Executive leads, directs, and sets the strategic direction for optimum quality of nursing practice.
The Nurse Executive operates as a member of the Forensics Services Executive Team, acting on behalf of the Executive Director when in the facility on-call roll. The Nurse Executive makes the final executive decision in the absence of the Executive Director in all 24/7 day-to-day operations when acting in the Executive-On-Call role.
*The Nurse Executive is a Statutory Unclassified position, which means the incumbent serves at the will of the appointing authority and does not acquire permanent status.*
Current licensure in Minnesota as a Registered Nurse
Master’s degree in Nursing OR Advanced Practice Certification
Three (3) years progressive supervisory experience in a large healthcare setting
Masters in Psychiatric Nursing
Certification as a psychiatric/mental health nurse
