VMSI is seeking a Government Contracting Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the Veterans Affairs in Frederick, MD. This position will provide high level acquisition consulting, facilitation, training and quality control support for the curriculum being developed and provided to the client’s acquisition workforce.
Provide subject matter expertise serving as a consultant on acquisition processes and procedures.
Collaborate with government counterpart to provide trainings to include Simplified Acquisition Procedures, Advanced Business Writing and others as developed and implemented.
Analyze training needs and requirements and provide recommendations to the client.
Conduct research supporting courseware development on an array of acquisition topics.
Assist with presentations and adult learning environment software.
Document in-person and distance learning courses, on a government provided audit form, the technical accuracy of material presented in the courses, an evaluation of each instructor’s understanding of course material, identify elements of the training requiring correction/supplementation, and provide appropriate corrective actions to those
Develop and submit the course audit reports to the COR for review.
Provide acquisition subject matter expertise to instructional design teams, attending internal pilots and dry runs and providing feedback based on
Facilitate acquisition and contracting training courses as required.

Bachelors Degree in a business related major (other relevant majors will be considered)
FAC-C/DAWIA Level III Contracting Certification
Experience as a Warranted Contracting Officer overseeing large complex contracts.
Desired experience leading contracting teams, developing policy & procedures, and facilitating formal and informal contracting training
10+ years of experience serving as an 1102 on multiple types of Federal Acquisition (GS-14 and above)
Ability to travel 3-5 days per month to various client locations to support training workshops and seminars.
Desired experience in using Blackboard and other web based training tools.
