Manage departmental operations and respond to inquiries from faculty, staff, students, other University Offices, and the general public regarding OEO policies, procedures, programs and office activities, including but not limited to: discriminatory harassment issues and requests for accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Under the direction of the Executive Director, draft, prepare and monitor the annual Affirmative Action Plan to ensure alignment with most currently defined categories and standards. Conduct case and complaint intakes and facilitate investigative functions of the office. Conduct investigations related to less complex to moderately complex cases at the discretion of the Executive Director. Participate in development and coordination of EEO training. Synthesize, analyze, and update data from various university and government sources (including but not limited to labor market studies, population, and census data, higher education institutions' research, etc.) for inclusion in AAP.
Required Education: Bachelor's degree.
Preferred Education: Some relevant graduate coursework.
Required Experience: 3 years' relevant professional experience providing a high level of customer service; demonstrated experience in performing complex quantitative analyses related to the Office of Equal Opportunity (OEO) functions and reporting activities.
Preferred Experience: Experience in Higher Education.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Superb written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational and analytical skills. Considerable knowledge of office systems and procedures; knowledge of business communication. Ability to take initiative and manage a variety of tasks and projects simultaneously. Ability to deal tactfully and discreetly with sensitive and confidential matters; ability to work under time constraints.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Training or equivalent experience in performing paralegal related services; familiarity with federal, New York State, and New York City legislation related to affirmative action, equal opportunity, and the rights of individuals with disabilities.
