My client, a leading Bank, is looking to recruit a dynamic individual to work closely with the Senior Risk Officer (SRO) in developing the Operational Risk and Enterprise Risk management framework for the bank's operations in London.
* Assist the SRO in the development of the Risk Management Framework, Risk Appetite Framework, Recovery and Resolution Plan, and the Reverse Stress Testing Plan for the company. * Coordinate with various teams in ensuring that the Policies and Procedures applicable to the company are appropriate and within local regulatory guidelines. Assist the SRO is enforcing governance around the applicable policies. * Work with the SRO and other risk teams in addressing risk related matters arising from Compliance, Human Resources, Audit and other Support/Control functions. * Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions, and recommend best practices to be followed. * Responsible for performing the challenging role required from the Second Line of Defense on operational risk related matters - including the development of the Risk Control Self-Assessment and establishment of appropriate Operational Key Risk Indicators for the Subsidiary and the Branch. Assist with the development, delivery and reporting on the scenario analysis program. Develop operational risk report for London Risk Committees. Review and challenge Operational loss events and new miss incidents as reported by the business lines and Corporate Function groups. * Conducting due diligence and other research in order to assess and challenge key risks raised by business units. Educate the business lines and support functions on the Bank's enterprise risk management frameworks. Support the business units in the development of its operational risk management programs, as well as in responding to regulatory requests for enterprise risk-related information. * Support the Director, Global Operational Risk, in the review, assessment and enhancement of the Bank's operational risk management tools and methodologies. * Maintain relationships with the business units operational risk managers and applicable corporate support areas to remain current on new developments and emerging risks within the industry. It is of particular importance that the incumbent partners with ORO London. * Attend enterprise risk-related seminars to keep up with industry and peers' best practices. * Receives direction from the SRO/Director while following Bank policies and procedures, addressing routine matters independently, keeping Global Operational Risk (GOR) management informed, and escalating problems appropriately. For complex issues, the incumbent is expected to gather relevant information and confer with SRO/Director for resolution. * Need to maintain a current awareness of regulatory requirements and industry best practices in operational risk.
Skills & Experience:
* Knowledge of the operating environment of the Bank, with a particular emphasis on applicable business line is beneficial. * University degree in a business-related field, with at least 5 years of progressive experience in the financial services industry. Relevant Masters is desirable. * Should have a breadth of experience in risk management, audit, capital markets or related areas. * Possess excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills to deal with senior levels of management. * Possess strong communication (verbal and written), listening, presentation and facilitation skills.
