The Director of Finance & Administration for the Melbourne Airport Authority will plan, develop and provide management oversight for the Finance & Administration Department including the accounting, budgeting, financial analysis and reporting, contracting, procurement and investment of surplus funds performance capital financing. The incumbent ensures the development of short and long-term financial plans, goals and objectives consistent with the Melbourne Airport Authority’s strategic operating and capital improvement plans for Orlando Melbourne International Airport (MLB).
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field with at least ten (10) years of increasingly responsible experience in finance and administration and contract preparation and compliance.

The ideal candidate will have:
Substantial knowledge of general accounting theory, principals, and practices, including financial statement preparation and methods of financial control and reporting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP), Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) and Financial Standards Board (FASB) rulings and pronouncements.
Substantial working knowledge of management, accounting, budgeting theories and principals and techniques.
Knowledge of principles and practices of aviation administration.
Knowledge of FAA and state rules, regulations, and laws regarding airport operations, maintenance and financial management.
Knowledge of investment fund management and municipal debt administration.
Knowledge of equity and debt investment processes.
Knowledge of finance and investment concepts and cash management.
Knowledge of real estate acquisition and real property management.
Position qualifications include:
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field with at least ten (10) years of increasingly responsible experience in finance and administration and contract preparation and compliance. Also required is two (2) years of management and supervisory experience. Must be a Certified Public Accountant or Certified Government Finance Officer or have ten (10) years of financial experience at the CFO level at a commercial service airport.
Additional Salary Information: The salary range for this position is $75,810 - $127,329 with an excellent benefit package including insurance, Florida retirement system, optional 457 deferred compensation plan, and relocation benefits.
Orlando - Melbourne International Airport (MLB) is owned by the City of Melbourne and governed by a seven-member board appointed by the Melbourne City Council and the private sector. The airport receives no local tax dollars.
Orlando Melbourne International Airport covers 2,450 acres and has three asphalt runways. In the year ending December 31, 2015, the airport had just under 100,00...0 aircraft operations and close to a half million enplanements. The airport is in the second season for scheduled international service via Canada’s third largest carrier, Porter Airlines, taking advantage of the facility’s 40,000 sq. ft. FIS facility. Additionally, Delta Airlines, Elite Airways and American Airlines provide scheduled service.
