FCL invites applications for the position of Business Analyst, Talent Insight Solutions in our home office located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
As a subject matter expert, the Business Analyst, Talent Insight Solutions is responsible for completing the project life cycle and plays a key lead role in enabling the change management process for assigned technology initiatives. This includes the review and analysis of current processes, business needs/requirements, system capabilities, data integration, development and testing of models & Reports/Visuals and providing recommended solutions. This role will provide ongoing support and collaborative feedback to both Innovation and their business unit during the development and implementation of new technology and/or processes. This position will act as the key liaison between the technology, business, and application support teams, and Retail Co-ops. Approximate annual travel time 15%.
Reporting to the Senior Business Project Manager, responsibilities for this position include the following:
1. Provide business analysis expertise in completing the project life cycle for assigned initiatives including a gap analysis and resolution for user needs and software fit; gathering, documenting, prioritizing and communicating requirements; and participating in vendor selection, system design, testing and implementation. 2. Conduct business readiness assessment prior to implementation and plan/execute as per customer selected deployment work streams to generate specific deliverables. 3. Analyze and critically evaluate information from multiple sources and determine a solution for competing stakeholder views and needs and prepare impact analysis for the implementation of a solution. 4. As part of a project team, prepare transition and service management plans and other project deliverables as required. Analyze the feasibility of, and develop requirements for new systems/system enhancements to ensure the system design aligns with user needs. 5. Analyzes business requirements and translates into configuration/technical solution. Solutions include business information systems, presentation visuals – reports, charts and dashboard, and analytical models. 6. Act as the key liaison for technology initiatives that impact their represented business unit. Participate in project team meetings representing the interests and needs of their business unit and ensure requirements are met by system functionality. 7. Develop test plans including functional, integration, and performance plans, and play an active role in quality assurance processes associated with the solutions. Communicate with business unit leaders and team members about upcoming changes, project scope, schedule, issues, decisions, etc. 8. Lead a review of existing business unit processes and develop “as is” and “to be “process models. 9. Collaborate with business unit specialists, service management stakeholders, and relevant subject matter experts to map, document, and establish business processes. 10. Lead and act as a change agent for assigned initiatives, including identifying and communicating change impact. Work with business unit leadership and team members to analyze the impact of changes, assess the potential implications, and develop an approach to facilitate the adoption. 11. Develop end user training and education materials, and contribute to the development of webinars, eLearning, and manuals. Provide leadership and guidance for training on new systems, including consolidating information into understandable correspondence. 12. Provide analysis, alternatives, and recommendations for required software customization. Participate in ongoing testing of customizations and determine solutions that can be applied for implementation. Ensure data integrity for current and “to be” systems is promoted and maintained throughout the lifecycle of the system using sound data management practices. 13. Plan, organize, and conduct business process improvement projects and/or management reviews of the business unit. 14. Work with project teams to develop knowledge of business analysis best practices, policies and templates, and to ensure use of common governance and practices within the project. 15. Other duties as assigned.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Business/Commerce, Information Technology, Mathematics or Finance and broad business acumen with 5 - 7 years working with Information Technology Business and HRIS Applications out of which 1-3 years of experience in systems configuration, data integration & data analysis with proficient knowledge in SQL, business process development/implementation. Expert skills in Excel and knowledge of HP Alm. IIBA certification or equivalent training and experience would be an asset. Professional designation (CAPM, payroll, etc.) are assets. Experience in IT systems examples include but are not limited to: Ultipro, Kronos and / or ADP.
