Physics: Assistant Professor in theoretical/computational physics; position is tenure-eligible and will start in August 2018. Responsibilities include teaching and research mentoring at the undergraduate and master’s levels; establishing a productive, externally funded research program; contributing to professional service. Required: Ph.D. in physics or related discipline by date of appointment.
Consideration may be given to candidates who overlap with at least one of the following areas: quantum optics/quantum information (strongly-coupled many-body physics, quantum metrology, hybrid cavity optomechanics, quantum circuit electrodynamics, and quantum memory); condensed matter and nano-scale physics (investigation of structural, magnetic, and quantum phase transitions in intermetallic alloys and thin-films, along with study of their thermoelectric and electronic transport properties; biological physics (ranging from metabolism and biomechanics at the cellular level, to those associated with collective behavior and the development of complexity in living system).
