We are seeking an experienced Diagnostic Medical Physicist, to work in East Florida. The ideal candidate will be dual board certified in Diagnostic Radiological Physics (DRP) and Medical Nuclear Physics (MNP). The successful candidate will have the following technical qualifications:
Dual board certified Diagnostic Radiological Physics (DRP) and Medical Nuclear Physics (MNP) preferred
Demonstrated expertise and experience in the following areas of Imaging Physics practice: Mammography, MRI, CT, Nuclear Medicine (including gamma cameras and licensing), PET, Radiological/Fluoroscopy Surveys, Ultrasound, Radiation Safety Officer, Patient Dose Calculations, or Shielding Designs.
Demonstrate an ability to learn new technical procedures quickly in unfamiliar environments and to apply previous knowledge to unknown topics to accomplish appropriate results.
Use technical expertise along with excellent verbal and written communications to lead teammates or clients in accomplishment of equipment surveys or navigation of the changing regulatory environment; and
Extensive experience with computer systems, including Microsoft Excel, and the use of a laptop to perform daily duties.
Able to enter MRI facilities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform equipment surveys or consulting in at least six of the following areas: Mammography, MRI, CT, Nuclear Medicine (including gamma cameras and licensing), PET, Radiological/Fluoroscopy Surveys, Radiation Safety Officer, Patient Dose Calculations, and Shielding Designs.
Travel locally to client sites to complete contracted services. Expenses for travel are reimbursed.
Must be able to accomplish overnight travel. Currently 15% or less, however as the business grows, this might be subject to change, but should not exceed 30%.
Move phantoms for equipment surveys (Could weigh 40 pounds and must be approximately 36 inches in height)
Conduct auditing of nuclear medicine programs, including radioactive materials licensees and act as an RSO or radiation protection consultant.
Must be able to provide professional medical physics consultations and training to clients.
Must meet the continuing education and experience requirements for medical physicists for ACR accreditation in Mammography, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, PET and Nuclear Medicine.
Compensation is competitive and will be commensurate with experience. Reimbursement of mileage at the standard government rate will be provided if a personal vehicle is used.
