The PHC Information Technology Division supports our community-focused healthcare system with 18 primary care facilities, 3 hospitals, home health care, hospice services, long term care and senior residence communities, health and a fitness center. We have attained national recognition for our pioneering approach to business intelligence and population health management. We were the first system to use Epic's Cogito data warehouse in a production environment which afforded our ACO a method for managing their population's health. We have successfully attested for Stage 1 of meaningful use for our hospitals and physicians, as well as have attained Stage6 designation on the HIMSS Analytics EMR Adoption Model (EMRAM). We continue to be a leader in providing effective technology in support of our organization's healthcare strategies.

Under limited guidance from the CIO/Vice President of Information Services, the Director will be responsible for effectively managing and supporting an extensive application portfolio for ProHealth Care (PHC). Must facilitate the successful deployment and implementation of key software packages required to support the respective operational goals aligned with PHC business strategies. Interprets strategic initiatives and helps to establish functional area plans, including annual work plans and 3 to 5 year application roadmaps for all applications under direct and indirect responsibility. Must successfully contract, implement, support, maintain, upgrade and optimize the necessary applications, tools and technologies according to the business and IT strategies defined and adopted by the established IT governance authority. This includes vendor partnership development establishing assurance that our partners respond appropriately to both our anticipated and unanticipated needs and urgencies.
Must demonstrate strong leadership over a high performing team of highly trained analysts and proactively develop them by creating a work environment that fosters innovative ideas and creative solutions to problems. The Director will also be responsible for establishing and maintaining motivation and performance among all team members with attention to appropriate assignments, workloads and performance indicators. Must be sensitive to the motivations of the generational workforce and be able to establish and motivate teams to accomplish goals. Must be able to explore new working arrangements designed to attract appropriate talent and establish consistent means to measure team and individual productivity and goal achievement. Properly delegates to direct reports and coaches these individuals relative to hiring and mentoring skills including regular employee feedback, employee recognition, and purposeful two way communication. Promotes succession planning within the management structure and mentors future leaders as to enhancing their demonstrated and valued management attributions.
Must establish strong constructive partnerships with the CIO, peer IT directors, organizational clients, and peers, and vendor partners. Expected to positively represent the IT organization, and creatively work toward continuous improvement while promoting the established IT governance structure. Participates in multiple committees as assigned. Must demonstrate extensive listening skills and be available to understand customer requirements and to establish appropriate service level agreements along agreed upon expectations.
Manages the clinical and business application portfolio and will identify and understand key lifecycle, upgrades, enhancements and support schedules and requirements. Assists the CIO in contract negotiations and renewals and provide general feedback regarding vendor performance and issue identification and problem resolution.
Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Degree with either an MBA or MS in Information Systems preferred. Will consider equivalent combination of experience and education in lieu of a degree.
At least 4 years of directly related IT services leadership experience required, with 10 or more years preferred.
At least 4 years, with 6 or more preferred, experience with Epic required.
Experience with Lawson, OnBase, and Nuance preferred.
Previous IT leadership in healthcare strongly preferred.
Demonstrated understanding of security policy administration.
Ability to work with all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated ability to provide a high level of customer service.
