The University of Cincinnati (UC) seeks to hire a Cyber Range Director to start in the early months of 2018. The position will be housed in the UC School of Information Technology (SoIT). UC is tasked by the Ohio Department of Higher Education and the Ohio Adjutant General's Department with implementing phase 2 of the Ohio Cyber Range project. The Ohio Cyber Range (OCR) is a learning and teaching tool for students, educators, workforce development, cyber incident response team training and a test bed for cyber programs and systems. The OCR is an initiative of the Ohio Cyber Collaboration Committee (OC3), a collaboration between public, private, military and educational organizations to strengthen cyber security for all in the State of Ohio. Phase 2 is a demonstration site for the OCR concept to demonstrate and document capabilities, programs and best practices. UC has established a Scope of Work consisting of nine deliverable categories. The OCR Director will be responsible for leading the effort to achieve the agreed upon project Scope of Work. The Cyber Range Director will have overall reporting responsibilities to the UC Cybersecurity Coordinating Committee, which consists of Directors and Heads of relevant cybersecurity academic and enterprise departments. The immediate HR supervisor for the position will be the Director of the SoIT.
On a full-time basis, the Cyber Range director will be responsible for all aspects related to the implementation of the OCR at UC. In particular, the Cyber Range director will:
Oversee the achievement of the OCR@UC implementation outcomes;
Coordinate marketing and outreach to stakeholders including industry, academia, students and professionals;
Provide leadership and supervision on the use of the OCR@UC among all stakeholders;
Oversee comprehensive knowledge management of the OCR@UC use;
Coordinate the necessary reporting and presentation to stakeholders
Master's degree with five (5) years experience; -OR-Bachelor's degree wi th seven (7) years experience; -OR- Associate's degree with nine (9)year 's experience; -OR- eleven (11) years experience. Experience must be re lated to areas of responsibilities.
Degree in a field relevant to the operations associated with a cyber range and significant work experience that includes leadership, outreach and coordination of educational and training programs that involves K12, Higher Education, and Industry. Candidates must have strong oral and written communication skills, demonstrated leadership and management skills and ability to lead teams to address complex problems.
