The Supervisor for Environmental Services supervises a team that maintains the physical environment of the Hospital at the highest level of cleanliness, both from an appearance and infection control standpoint. Responsible for overseeing and developing the Environmental Services staff that functions in ancillary, inpatient, outpatient, clinic and office areas. Position will also perform the essential functions of housekeeping aide in order to provide a clean and aseptic environment for the safety and health of our patients, visitors, physicians and employees by performing various housekeeping and other duties. Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities: 1. Ability to read and write at a level normally acquired through completion of a high school diploma or equivalent. 2. Knowledge of environmental control practices and procedures as well as knowledge of laws, regulations and guidelines governing housekeeping functions normally acquired through 1-2 years related experience or 1-2 years on-the-job experience. 3. Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate effectively with Environmental Services staff, staff and managers of other departments, Administration and others as appropriate. 4. Leadership and team-building skills necessary to effectively supervise and motivate staff.
