Covenant Security Services, is recruiting for a Vice President of Business Development to add to its executive team based out of Philadelphia, PA.

The Vice President of Business Development will be responsible for the coordination of CSS’ national sales and business development efforts and activities, in conjunction with the Company’s strategies to drive profitable revenue growth and build and increase market share in target markets (both existing and new). Drive and establish the internal selling process and foster clear communication with Covenant support services, while assisting in maintaining a consistent marketing message to our external clients.
The Vice President of Business Development, will also be responsible for building, managing and leading a sales team through the sales process from the first point of contact all the way through the point of sale.
Essential functions include the following, however, other duties may be assigned to reflect the needs of the business:
Through established contacts and new contacts, generate new business for CSS in the security markets focusing on National Accounts
Establish a culture of highly effective strategic selling approaches to major accounts
Develop and maintain a structured sales process, and sales team, to ensure increased growth
Oversee, manage, and develop Regional Sales positions
Develop “pipeline” of upcoming business opportunities
Recommend go/no-go for each potential business opportunity
Perform competitive analysis of all CSS competitors and perform SWOT analyses when CSS competes against an incumbent
Work with the VP of Marketing to develop and deliver sales presentations and oral presentations in a professional and effective manner
Coordinate efforts with the President and VP of Marketing on all stages of bid and proposal development, as required
Assist with all stages of contract transition, as required
Help marketing team coordinate marketing activities for CSS, including tradeshows, business development communication materials, association involvement, market research and partnership opportunities
Assist in developing, and continue to maintain, positive professional relationships with current and prospective clients
Maintain all quote documentation with accurate pricing and configurations
Evaluate, develop and maintain all sales demonstration tools and applications
Deliver sales presentations in a professional and effective manner
Maintain up-to-date awareness of company activities, industry trends & government regulations
Meet with prospective clients; represent company at industry related functions, etc.
Work with Marketing team to maintain all prospect POCs, updated telephone number, addresses, emails, etc. in salesforce
Effectively communicates with internal/external contacts while protecting highly confidential info.
Highly Influential personality and approach
Research current information available when asked to advise on marketing related issues
Assist CSS management with executive level tasks
Travel as required
Qualifications & Competencies
The Vice President of Business Development will possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field from an accredited institution preferred (proper experience can be substituted for education)
A minimum of 10 years of sales experience in the contract security industry, with 3-5 years management experience
CPP, PSP, PSI or other security certification, preferred
Experience managing multiple projects
Ability to develop and implement sales strategies
Ability to work independently with limited supervision
Self-motivated, possessing a sense of urgency to meet all deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Strong negotiation skills and ability to close sales
The ability to multi-task and juggle multiple accounts/customers at the same time
Effectively communicates with internal/external contacts while protecting highly confidential info
Is proactive; presents innovative ideas and solutions to problems
Computer literate; knowledge of Microsoft Office, com, spreadsheet and data base applications
Familiar with all social media platforms
Is open to, and accepts, change
