Provide Human Resources consultation to assigned business units.
Partners with managers and employees of assigned business units on a variety of human resource initiatives including employee relations, compensation and benefits, recruitment and retention, performance management, training and interpretation of HR policies and their applications.
Assists and advises management and employees on correct interpretation of current Human Resources policies and procedures. Assists in conducting investigations and determining appropriate levels of corrective discipline as required. Works closely with Associate Occupational Health Services in the implementation and follow-up of leaves of absence, worker's compensation, and ADA issues. Conducts audits to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and HR policy/procedures.
Supports leadership team in assigned units in managing the associate HR life cycle, including recruitment, on-boarding, orientation, training/development, and separation processes. Provides information to managers and employees regarding compensation and benefit programs. Reviews salary exception recommendations for any new hires, transfers or promotions. Assists the leadership team with the implementation and communication of the merit process and any market-based pay adjustments.
Ensures associate engagement and retention through effective implementation of HR associate survey. Works with leaders to develop effective action plans. Reviews and analyzes exit interview and turnover data. Provides summary of trends to the business unit management team and site/system leadership.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field is required.
Four (4) years of general Human Resources experience is required.
Knowledge of employee relations, employment law/labor law, staffing/recruiting, compensation, government regulations, performance management, benefits, payroll, worker's compensation, and regulatory compliance.
Able to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult and emotional issues.
Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Able to organize and prioritize work.
Strong attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Excellent customer service skills.
Current professional level human resources certification is preferred.
