Biology: Research Assistant (part-time 50% time) to monitor animal health conditions and activities; supervise, oversee, and provide training for faculty, staff, and student employees; enforce and comply with IACUC requirements, federal regulations as described in the Public Health Service Policy on Humane Care and Use of Laboratory Animals; keep records and documents, and report incidents to Director of the Animal Facility and Department Chair; work with the Director of the Animal Facility, Department Chair, and other staff to properly handle any issues that might impact on the use and care of animals within the facility; may perform blood and sample collections, injections, and routine laboratory tests; may assist and perform surgeries, treatments, post-surgical care and euthanasia for rodents; may transport animals to and from laboratories; may feed and water research animals.
Require: Bachelor's degree or the equivalent of education and experience; proven animal research skills and independence; experience and knowledge in rodent surgeries, post-surgical care and research. Position requires flexibility to work some evening hours, weekends and holidays. Position is not eligible for H-1B sponsorship.
