Rider University invites applications for a Communications Officer in the Department of Public Safety at our Lawrenceville campus. Among the primary responsibilities will be answering telephones, dispatching patrol units, maintaining proper records, performing patrol duties, and performing other functions as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent, college a plus. Police, fire, security or military experience. Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. Must possess the physical condition necessary to fulfill duties. Must have, or be willing to obtain within one year, CPR certification. Computer literacy (typing test required). Willingness and ability to work flexible hours and overtime. Excellent interpersonal skills essential. The completion of a satisfactory background check is required.
