As a Senior Business Architect, you will manage a team of business architects who will assess the overall health or our business capabilities, develop domain level business strategies, and then create a 3 year roadmap to enable those strategies and improve our capabilities. With a focus on proactive consultation, guidance and partnership, a senior business architect must understand our business strategies and corresponding initiatives so that you can provide insights back to our business partners. These insights include partnering with senior business leaders to determine the feasibility of new ideas, assessing emerging opportunities, identify Proof of Concept opportunities, translating strategy and business needs into complete, coordinating the development of business models, and working with other technology delivery organizations and other IT partners to guide the evolution of ideas into funded initiatives. The Senior Business Architect plays an important role by bringing together information in ways that provide new insights and perspectives on operational effectiveness as well as future business opportunities.Primary Responsibilities:Oversee a team of business architects that are responsible for leading capability planning sessions that identify deficiencies in people, process and technology across the M&R business segmentClarify the M&R organization's strategic intent by developing business domain level strategies and the corresponding 3-year business and operational roadmapsDecompose business strategies into the capabilities required to execute against themFacilitate discussion with business leaders to collectively assess capability health and articulate capability gaps/business challenges Ensure strategic intent and impacts on supporting capabilities are mutually understood by the business and technology organizationsDefine a set of processes, models and metrics to help management ensure that the business domains are working together to attain the company's strategic vision and goalsFacilitate capability prioritization activities through examination of opportunity costs, benefits, duration and other prerequisitesParticipate in the identification and evaluation of new business opportunities and then translate them into strategic initiatives where appropriatePresent cohesive models, capability blueprints, and roadmaps to executives and stakeholders in order to secure consensus on proposed capabilities and technology initiativesCreate high-level process and organizational views that enable executives to focus their attention on the most-important areas
Required Qualifications:5+ years of business architecture experience3+ years leading business architect or business process improvement efforts2+ years of experience modeling business processes using industry standard modeling tools and practicesExperience managing relationships with senior and executive level business leadersExcellent analytical and problem solving skillsExcellent interpersonal skills and workplace savvyProven ability to see the big picture before getting into detailsDetail oriented and organizedPreferred Qualifications:3+ years of experience using a leading architecture planning tool such as Alphabet, Troux or Mega3+ years of experience with capability-based planningTOGAF certification of valueCollege degreeCareers with UnitedHealthcare.
