UW Medicine IT Services/Pharmacy Services has an outstanding opportunity for a FULL-TIME PHARMACY IT ANALYST. The Pharmacy IT Analyst will provide technical support of departmental and clinical computer systems used primarily for patient care, billing, purchasing, accounts payable, and inventory management. A successful applicant will perform in a team environment and perform the following responsibilities:
Perform system configuration and build tasks within pharmacy applications.
Maintain active drug file within various pharmacy systems.
Coordinate communication and system configuration between pharmaceutical wholesaler systems and UW Medicine applications.
Maintain a working knowledge and proficiency in pharmacy purchasing activities.
Develop and maintain the pharmacy accounts payable interface and coordinate pharmacy AP activities and communication for UW Medicine facilities.
Support training and customer education when needed.
Adhere to working standards of UW Medicine, IT Services, and Pharmacy.
The UW Medicine Pharmacy IT group is well regarded within the UW Medicine community as a very capable and extremely dedicated team of healthcare and information technology professionals. The team functions at a high level to deliver project solutions and provide ongoing support not only for pharmacy system applications, but also for UW Medicine's electronic medical records (ORCA and EPIC).
Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management, Computer Science, or other related degree. Equivalent experience may substitute for education requirement.
Three (3) years of recent healthcare experience.
Certification as a pharmacy technician in Washington State.
Strongly prefer Cerner, EPIC, or other vendor health information, MMIS, medical records, provider order entry, and/or clinical repository systems development.
Working knowledge of pharmacy wholesaler purchasing systems and pharmacy or materials management information systems.
Excellent and highly detailed organizational skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with strong sense of customer support.
Interest and aptitude for healthcare and information technology.
Working knowledge and proficiency in pharmacy purchasing activities.
Coordinate communication and system configuration between pharmaceutical wholesaler systems, UW Medicine applications, pharmacy operations, and pharmacy staff.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Busy professional office environment.
Normal working hours; may require some off-hours and weekends.
On-call coverage (7x24), as assigned on a rotating basis.
Must be able to travel to UW Medical Center, Harborview, and/or South Lake Union pharmacies.
