CARB-X is seeking a talented individual to join our core team at Boston University in the role of Director of Finance and Compliance.
CARB-X is a young entrepreneurial endeavor, focused on accelerating the pre-clinical development of products to address antibiotic resistance, including drugs, vaccines and diagnostics. We coordinate with biopharmaceutical accelerators in the US and abroad to select projects for funding and mentor these projects towards clinical trials. We will award more than $455 million for research over a five year period starting mid-2016. This will be one of the largest public-private research partnerships in the world.
The Director of Finance and Compliance will be a critical member of a core team of individuals working together to ensure CARB-X achieves the goals behind its important healthcare-related mission and will be responsible for CARB-X's financial management and reporting obligations as required by government and non-government funders. He or she will coordinate with multiple partners and sub-grant recipients to ensure all aspects of financial operations are in line with plans and expectations and managed and reporting according to guidelines. He/she will play a critical role in budget forecasting and planning processes (e.g. Forecast, Budget, Long Range Plan) and will provide clear financial analytics to support optimal management of the CARB-X portfolio.
This is an unparalleled opportunity to help drive forward a key global R&D funding source for biomedical innovation. If you enjoy working in a fast paced, start-up environment where creativity, flexibility and collaboration are essential, we encourage you to apply.
The Director of Finance and Compliance reports to the Chief Operating Officer for the organization.
