The University of Cincinnati seeks to hire an Assistant Professor - Educator in Cybersecurity in its School of Information Technology (SoIT) at to start in the early months of 2018. This position is in direct support of the Ohio Cyber Range project that is to be housed at UC. Review of the applications will start on as soon as possible until the position is filled. UC is tasked by the Ohio Department of Higher Education and the Ohio Adjutant General's Department with implementing phase 2 of the Ohio Cyber Range project. The Ohio Cyber Range (OCR) is a learning and teaching tool for students, educators, workforce development, cyber incident response team training and a test bed for cyber programs and systems. The OCR is an initiative of the Ohio Cyber Collaboration Committee (OC3), a collaboration between public, private, military and educational organizations to strengthen cyber security for all in the State of Ohio. Phase 2 is a demonstration site for the OCR concept to demonstrate and document capabilities, programs and best practices. UC has established a Scope of Work consisting of nine deliverable categories. The Assistant professor-Educator in Cybersecurity will be responsible for contributing to achieving the agreed upon project Scope of Work. The faculty position will report directly to the Director of SoIT and also be expected to work collaboratively with the OCR Director.
Job Description: On a full-time basis, the Assistant Professor – Educator position will be responsible for academic and training programs and content for the OCR@UC. In particular, the Assistant Professor – Educator will: 1. Develop and deliver packaged training programs that can be utilized within the OCR@UC 2. Develop and deliver special training seminars and workshops for K12, Higher Education, and Industry 3. Develop train the trainer programs to help teachers and trainers utilize the resources of the OCR@UC 4. Support the academic and training outcomes of the OCR@UC 5. Support the dissemination of best practices and educational material
Position Requirements: An earned Master's degree in Information Technology or related computing area and at least three years of working experience that includes technical hands-on experience in Cybersecurity.
All faculty positions require teaching, scholarship and service responsibilities. Teaching Cybersecurity undergraduate courses such as, but not limited to, those listed at http://cech.uc.edu/it/future-students/course-descriptions.html is required. Finally, service responsibilities to the School, College, University and/or the community.
