We seek a broadly trained cell/molecular biologist who complements existing strengths in the biology and chemistry programs to join our academically diverse and collegial team. Duties of the position entail teaching courses at all levels of the undergraduate biology curriculum including cellular biology, molecular and Mendelian genetics, and an upper-level course in the applicant’s area of interest. The teaching load is 3-3, and faculty are expected to participate in academic advising, new student recruiting, governance, and other activities that support the mission of the college.
The position requires a Ph.D. in biology or a related field. Applicants must have potential for excellence in student-centered teaching. The department is seeking applicants who have an interest in working collaboratively on course design and who have experience mentoring undergraduate research. Successful applicants will demonstrate a commitment to cultural diversity and the ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
