The Simpson College Computer Science Department invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August 2018.
We seek a broadly trained computer scientist who complements existing strengths in our computer science department. Applicants must have a passion for teaching at the undergraduate level and potential for excellence in student-centered teaching. Duties of the position entail teaching courses at all levels of the computer science curriculum including introductory programming, discrete mathematics, algorithms, artificial intelligence, and operating systems. A desire to teach topics in data science or management information systems and familiarity with many modern computer languages and technologies would be beneficial. The teaching load is 3-3, and faculty are expected to participate in academic advising, new student recruiting, governance, and other activities that support the mission of the college.
