Position Summary: The Compensation Manager is responsible for researching strategic and tactical compensation issues and market trends. This position will evaluate compensation programs to ensure Lone Star College’s competitiveness, and manages a staff of Compensation Analysts to provide specific program or service offerings to internal or external customers. The Compensation Manager will also recommend new initiatives and changes to the compensation philosophy, programs, and practices.
Job Functions: Analyze current state of compensation against market rates Benchmark compensation offerings with similar institutions Administer salary requests and adjustments such as across the board, COLAs, promotions, etc. Review and approve stipends and other additional pay Review and approve job descriptions Analyze and aid in maintaining the integrity of LSC compensation plans and LSC-wide compensation equity Review and analyze annual re-organization documentation and make recommendations for appropriate grading of positions Works as an integral part of a cross-functional team to advise on workflow, PeopleSoft (iStar) best practices, and to assist with resolution of compensation related issues Oversee and conduct market data research and salary surveys Contribute to the overall success of the Compensation Department and LSC by performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, or Business related field and at least 5 years of demonstrated Compensation experience, at least 3 in a supervisory role An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
