Ph.D. is required in any humanities field. Applicants must have scholarly expertise and teaching experience in Africana. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses that focus on Environmental Literature, Black Atlantic Culture, African Cinema, Popular Culture in the Caribbean and Latin America, and courses that support the general education curriculum at UNC Charlotte, especially in critical thinking, writing intensive, and service learning. The teaching load is 4/4.
Minimum Experience / Education:
UNC Charlotte gives primary consideration to the earned masters and/or terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
The successful candidate will also support the service mission of the department, including student advising, faculty governance, and community outreach.
