Northwestern College invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in chemistry to begin in the fall of 2018. The ideal candidate holds a Ph.D. in chemistry or related field and is prepared to teach organic chemistry with labs. The department is especially interested in candidates who can work collegially and effectively with others while also contributing to the general/introductory chemistry and analytical chemistry offerings. Hiring preference will also be given to persons with practical chemistry experience who are eager to involve students in research, experiential learning and data analysis. The normal teaching load is 24 hours per academic year with additional responsibilities of scholarly activity, student advising and faculty governance. ABDs and professionals with a master’s degree will be considered, but a completed doctorate is required by the time of tenure review.
