Position Summary: It is the responsibility of the teaching faculty to provide the learning activities and support that will lead to the achievement of the course objectives and contribute to the educational environment of the college and the community. The faculty member's role encompasses the general areas of learning facilitation, professional development, and institutional service. Primary responsibilities are to plan, develop and teach courses within the curriculum in a manner that facilitates student learning.
Job Functions: 1.Teaches Associate Degree and Vocational Nursing courses at a variety of times and locations in response to institutional needs. 2.Plans, supervises, and evaluates student clinical experiences in assigned health care facilities and in simulation lab, and initiates conferences with students encountering clinical difficulties. 3.Communicates objectives for student performance to the clinical facility administration and nursing staff. 4.Serves on college and System committees, as required, and serves as a community resources person, representing the college to outside groups as needed. 5.Works collaboratively with other faculty, CE staff, departments and division on schedule development, marketing events, faculty recruitment, hiring, classroom observation, student recruitment and retention efforts, budget development, and special events. 6.Submits required college reports and forms in a timely manner.
Salary: Commensurate with education, experience and qualifications
Required: Master's degree in Nursing and 3 years non-teaching work experience in the field. Must hold a current unencumbered Texas RN license.
