Budget Title: Staff Associate (SL-4)
Salary: $50,0000 - $60,000, commensurate with experience
The Graduate School at Binghamton University (SUNY) seeks a customer focused, experienced professional for the position of Assistant Director for Strategic Partnerships.
The Assistant Director for Strategic Partnerships will identify promising opportunities for new partnerships between academic programs at Binghamton University and domestic or international counterparts, cultivate and foster these relationships, and establish and execute partnership agreements. The successful individual will need to work with university representatives from all over the world and therefore be able to appreciate and navigate diverse cultures.
The Assistant Director for Strategic Partnerships will serve as the recruitment liaison between Dean's offices, academic departments and the Graduate School. The incumbent will work collaboratively with departments, faculty, and graduate program directors to support them in recruitment and enrollment efforts. The incumbent will also assist with the implementation of the domestic and international recruitment strategy.
The Assistant Director for Strategic Partnerships will also be responsible for the coordination amongst departments involved in existing interdisciplinary programs as well as the development of future programs.
The successful individual may supervise graduate student assistants and mentor them in time management and successfully completing assigned projects and tasks.
Possess a minimum of a Master's degree
Have at least two years of experience navigating partnerships that require a high level of cultural sensitivity
Be able and willing to travel internationally and domestically and work non-standard/varied working hours
Demonstrate knowledge of interdisciplinary program management
Have excellent presentation, oral and written communication skills
Be data-driven and familiar with reporting & analysis
Have proven ability to learn and use technology, including social media and university enterprise systems (e.g. Banner, Slate)
Prior work experience in a higher education setting
Evidence of prior international travel and willingness to travel for extended periods if necessary
Ability to work independently and manage multiple and changing priorities
High level of initiative and goal orientation, including motivation to achieve aggressive goals
Commitment to teamwork and strong interpersonal communication skills
A high level of organization, attention to detail and time management skills
Strong customer service orientation and appreciation for the needs of graduate students
