Our Patient Financial Services department has an outstanding opportunity for a FULL-TIME PATIENT FINANCIAL SERVICES SPECIALIST 1.
Retrieve medical records requested for billing
Access computer databases to obtain eligibility information
Update patient demographic, financial, and other information in the Epic system
Open, in-date, sort, document, scan, and distribute incoming correspondence and remittances
Retrieve active and purged data, remittance advices and other PFS input
May answer telephone and retrieve voicemail messages
May complete attorney requests for itemized bills
May sort and distribute computer output such as claims, statements and reports
Other duties as assigned

High School graduation or equivalent AND one year of experience in an appropriately related patient accounting function OR Equivalent education/experience
Conditions: Must be able to lift 25-30 lbs
Able to communicate effectively with co-workers and public
Knowledge of Medical Centers and PFS Department work assignments
Able to accurately distribute incoming correspondence and rejected claims
Knowledge of general office procedures, including file maintenance and the operation of office equipment
