Develops departmental goals and objectives consistent with medical, administrative, legal and ethical requirements of the health care delivery system.
Directs clinical activities, including patient assessment, care plan development, service level determination, patient visits, and complaint management.
Plans, organizes and directs all activities related to staffing, including hiring, orienting, evaluating and continuing education initiatives.
Prepares and monitors budget(s) and ensures that assigned nursing area operates within allocated funds. Coordinates and directs internal and externally-driven audits.
Other duties as assigned.
Maintains professional development.
Certified BLS Provider specializing in Health Service Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Or military CPR-First Aid training.
Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Maryland Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Education and Experience:
Master of Science
Required: MSN or Master’s degree in related field If Master’s degree is not in nursing Bachelors degree must be in nursing at date of hire
Required: Seven (7) years’ nursing administrative or leadership experience. Previous management experience in an acute care setting at date of hire. Preferred: Previous Director of Nursing experience in specialty at date of hire.
