Directs and plans goals for a competitive NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball program in accordance with University, Conference USA, and NCAA rules and procedures; recruits and develops student-athletes, as well as committing to student-athlete personal and academic welfare; participates in support of development of marketing and fund-raising activities, public and media relations activities; oversees practices, competition, assistant coaches, and budget (including scholarships, travel, equipment, etc.). The position may also serve as Head Beach Volleyball Coach depending upon the organizational structure agreed upon by the Athletic Director and the successful candidate. Adheres to University and department policies, procedures, and regulations. Adheres to laws, bylaws, rules, policies, regulations, and constitutional provisions of the federal government, state of Mississippi, IHL Board, The University of Southern Mississippi, or any other governing authority.
Performs coaching and recruiting duties.
Complies with NCAA and CUSA rules and regulations, and department plans.
Demonstrates effectiveness of public relations, media relations, and people skills.
Demonstrates effectiveness in monitoring student-athlete academic progress, retention, and graduation.
Sets and accomplishes program goals.
Effectively maintains budget, organizational skills and student-athlete involvement.
Maintains effective working relationship with department support staff and other university personnel.
Demonstrates effectiveness in maintaining discipline and control of student-athletes and program.
Effectiveness in management of scholarships.
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
