Serve as the Office of Research's primary grants liaison to several key research units in the School and throughout the University. Work with the Associate Dean of Research, faculty, and Principal Investigators to research and identify materials for external grant proposals to federal, state and local government agencies, and private foundations. Monitor progress and assess research productivity of faculty, principal investigators, and academic departments in developing grant proposals. Write and prepare reports and grant-related communications on research programs, activities and initiatives at the School. Monitor all aspects of restricted and grant-funded projects within select units at Steinhardt and across other University departments. Monitor the revenue and expenditures of restricted and grant-funded projects. Provide ongoing analytical support and financial reporting to external funding agencies. Oversee grant budgets, revenues, transfers and expenditures.
Required Education: BA/BS
Preferred Education: Master's Degree in Higher Education, Communications or Finance.
Required Experience: Min. 3 years' experience managing grants, developing administrative services/processes, and managing grant and/or operating budgets.
Preferred Experience: Experience in an academic setting. NSF grants administration and budgeting experience preferred
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent organizational, time-management, interpersonal, and written/verbal communications skills. Ability to work both independently and in teams are required. Knowledge of standard office software, and intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
