Under the direction of the Lead Administrator for the Department of Radiology, this position serves as the key contact for billing related issues between the department and YM centralized revenue cycle functions. The person in this role will establish processes and systems in collaboration with centralized functions, analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement in revenue capture, and actively work to assure timely filing and reduction of administrative burdens. They will work closely with YM as a partner in quality and process improvement.

Required Skill/ability 1: Superior interpersonal, oral and written communication, high degree of interpersonal ability to communicate with various levels of employees (administrative to staff) within the organization. Exceptional organizational and analytical skills, with high attention to detail. Proven ability to conduct comprehensive analysis of data with complex reporting of results.
Required Skill/ability 2: Demonstrated technical knowledge of medical insurance billing procedures with third-party reimbursement methodologies. Working knowledge of government and commercial insurance rules and regulations pertaining to correct coding initiatives. Demonstrated problem-solving ability using excellent investigative techniques to arrive at resolution.
Required Skill/ability 3: Demonstrated knowledge of CPT, ICD-9 and 10, HCPCS codes, medical terminology and documentation/compliance requirements for physicians in an academic medical setting. Excellent working knowledge of medical office/hospital systems, medical record management software (Epic preferred), Outlook email and related software applications.
Required Skill/ability 4: Demonstrates a high level of integrity and innovative thinking and actively contributes to the success of the organization. Working knowledge of HIPAA regulations and impacts on practice operations. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a cross-functional team to achieve common goals. Ability to lead team projects.

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills: Healthcare related reimbursement & coding associated with a physician practice, healthcare related data analysis, EPIC and supervisory experience. AAPC (CPC) certification, Masters of Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
Required Licenses Or Certifications:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field and four years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
