The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is seeking an experienced professional to make a long-term positive impact on Michigan consumers and food producers by leading a highly effective Food and Dairy Division. This position will focus on the coordinated operation of 5 program units consisting of over 100 staff focused on compliance, education, and customer service. The ideal candidate will have experience in public health management, food and dairy industry stakeholder coordination, public communication, strategic planning, and organizational leadership. Leaders at MDARD play an active role in shaping and maintaining an enterprise culture where professional development is encouraged, continuous improvement is an all-hands on-deck approach, and innovative ideas are shared and piloted across work groups. MDARD leaders are also allowed the flexibility to participate in areas such as emergency management, workgroup development, employee engagement, and policy development.
