Dean of Graduate Studies and Continuing Education Programs
Salve Regina University seeks an entrepreneurially-minded and visionary leader to advance the number, quality, reputation and stature of graduate and continuing education programs.
Utilizing a collaborative approach with faculty, the successful candidate will demonstrate substantive knowledge, enthusiasm, and success in the development of new graduate and continuing education programs by executing strategies for future program expansion, as well as enhancing university connections with industry, organizations, and potential academic partners.
The dean will oversee all processes relating to graduate/continuing education, including:
admissions and marketing to prospective students;
student retention to program completion;
strategies to set program pricing;
facilitating and supporting the development of new programs and curricula;
chairing a council of graduate program directors; and
the expansion of University's instructional outreach as it relates to distance learning management systems and extension programs.
The Dean reports directly to the Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Office of Graduate Studies and Continuing Education has six support staff.
Master's degree and experience directing graduate and/or continuing education programs
Teaching experience in graduate programs and online program delivery
Experience in new program development, planning, marketing, recruitment, evaluation, and implementation of graduate/continuing education programs
At least five years of leadership and administrative experience in related areas
Superb verbal, written, interpersonal, and group communication skills
Highest standards of personal and academic integrity
Financial acumen and competence in developing a return on investment program analysis
Knowledge of graduate and continuing education trends nationally and internationally
Proven track record of managing, growing and evaluating programs
Understanding of traditional, interactive, hybrid and online learning platforms for graduate and continuing education
Demonstrated experience with accrediting bodies and shared governance
Passion for the Mission of Salve Regina University
Established record of professional accomplishment as documented by peer reviewed publications, presentations, and creative activities
Experience obtaining extramural support for programs and students
Record of advocacy for students
Experience in strategic thinking and planning
Documented marketing success in competitive environments
Evidence of leadership that fosters interdisciplinary collaboration between undergraduate and graduate studies
