Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Registered Nurse- FHC Children's Health
In this role, The Registered Professional Nurse (RN) assumes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides care in accordance with the policies and procedures of Lutheran Family Health Centers established professional conduct standards.
Assesses evaluates and plans care for patients for routine care acute care and chronic disease maintenance inclusive of pre-visit planning
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary in providing care based on physical psychosocial educational safety and related criteria appropriate to the age of the patients served
Demonstrates professionalism and sensitivity when interacting with patients/clients, families, co-workers, guests and vendors. Fosters an environment that promotes teamwork. Maintains patient/client rights Follow LFHC policies and procedures Adheres to the NYU Langone Health's Rules of Conduct

Coordinates patient care with other health care team members/ departments/agencies/ hospitals/managed care/insurance companies as indicated
Assesses patient/family/significant others level of understanding barriers to learning and provides education on diagnosis medications treatments and other relevant care issues as indicated
Observes, reports and documents significant physical psychosocial or safety status changes and assessments in the patients condition to appropriate members of health care team and nurse manager
Coordinates smooth flow of patients
Assists providers with those examinations and treatments that cannot be delegated to auxiliary staff
Seeks validation of knowledge base, accepts constructive criticism and making appropriate changes when necessary
Integral member of the health care team of the module/site to coordinate patient care
Administers medications and treatments as per providers orders.
Acts as patient advocate and offers patient/family encouragement and support.
Completes requirements for waived testing performed on unit
Performs efficiently in emergency/crisis situations following established protocols. Takes necessary precautions and preventative measures to: Ensure a safe work environment Patient safety environment Knowledge of how to identify and report incidents and near misses
Demonstrates appropriate assignment of tasks and duties and coordination of health care team members
Demonstrates awareness of legal issues in all aspects of patient care and strives to manage situations in a reduced risk manner. Reports findings or events to appropriate personnel.
Assumes charge responsibility as assigned problem solving, communicating to others appropriately.

Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing- BSN preferred NY State RN license At least 1 year ambulatory care experience required Pediatric experience required BLS Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
