Position Summary: The University of California Office of the President' TDS (Technology Delivery Services) department is seeking an experienced IT Program Manager to lead mid to large scale/transformational IT programs and projects. This seasoned IT professional will lead the delivery of multiple enterprise-wide IT solutions that support the Office of the President's strategic goals and objectives. In this role, you will work closely with the Infrastructure Support teams, Application Development teams, Network and Security teams and other internal groups to manage the project(s) from initiation through execution or delivery. This seasoned IT professional will have a deep technical background and significant experience with both IT Infrastructure and Software Development. You will apply advanced technical project management frameworks and methods to meet TDS's objectives and to resolve highly complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Duty 10: Lead medium to large scale transformational IT programs and projects by applying advanced technical project management concepts with a full understanding of project management practices and IT policies and procedures to manage complex projects. Provides analysis for highly complex, project-related issues. Function:Project Lead Percent: 30
Duty 20: Lead in the delivery of multiple enterprise-wide IT solutions through the implementation of project management processes for the Technology Delivery Service's products and services involving diverse departmental or cross-functional teams. Initiates, designs and leads project proposals and reports. Function:Implementation of Project Percent: 30
Duty 30: Has overall project management responsibility. May lead a team of technical project management professionals. Assembles and directs large and diverse project teams, develops detailed project plans and schedules and monitors budget and resources. Directs project activities with the goal of completing the project on schedule and within budget constraints.
Interacts with senior internal and external personnel. Oversees the project from initiation through delivery including system integration, project and communications. Manages key interaction with stakeholders and end users to manage risk and ensures satisfaction. Function:Overall Project Management Percent: 30
Duty 40: Provides in-depth business analysis and leads requirements gathering. Function:Other Percent: 10
Job Requirements Bachelors of Science in CS, MIS, related technical degree or equivalent work experience with minimum of 3 years of technical work experience.
3-6 years of project management or related experience of successfully led at least 3+ enterprise-level cross-functional transformational programs
Ability to drive work independently, identifying solutions, moving them to implementation, and developing long-range strategies
Develops, maintains, and strengthens partnerships with others inside and outside the project team who provide decision making, information, or support.
Communicates a clear, vivid, inspiring and relevant description or picture of project benefits / value to the customer. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of an organization.
Demonstrated attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to determine relevance and prioritize tasks.
Works to improve and reinforce performance in others; facilitates their skill development by providing clear, specific performance feedback, and making or eliciting suggestions for solutions/performance improvement.
Demonstrates mastery in all aspects of Project Management plan-driven methodology, including: --Scope Management --Schedule Management --Financial Management --Issue & Risk Management --Vendor, Contract, & Resources Management --Execution Governance / Steering Committees, Monitoring, and Control
Advanced knowledge of all aspects of computing and communications including hardware infrastructure, networking, software, operations and disaster recovery.
Demonstrated ability to integrate critical information across disciplines. Understands how projects relate to other business strategies and initiatives. Required
Demonstrated knowledge of ITIL processes for service delivery.
Achieves positive outcomes by identifying common interests, clarifying differences, and achieving consensus or compromise.
Active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification Preferred
