Assistant Director, Information Networking Institute (INI)-2007782
The Assistant Director of the Information Networking Institute (INI) is part of the INI Leadership Team and will report directly to the Director of the INI. This role will align efforts across the INI's functional areas, streamline internal communication and develop cohesive strategies for implementation to support the organization's initiatives and the Director's vision.
We are looking for someone who is a big picture thinker with excellent communication skills, leadership capabilities and demonstrated project management experience. An added plus would include specific roles and experience advancing partnerships, cultivating funding opportunities and leading outreach initiatives.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting the Director of the INI to identify opportunities for strategic outreach and other externally focused initiatives, including but not limited to:
Advancing the INI's strategic priority of diversity and outreach initiatives to ensure the INI's culture is welcoming and supportive to all its students, faculty, staff and alumni.
Identifying new funding opportunities and cultivating relationships with funding organizations (such as local and national foundations), international organizations (Fulbright and other) and other entities that offer scholarships and other funding opportunities.
Leading the execution of strategies to maximize the INI presence at sponsored conferences and other activities in support of the organization that offer the potential for increasing the INI brand recognition.
Identifying and exploring untapped opportunities and markets for INI programs and initiatives.
Providing high-level executive oversight as the liaison between the Director and the INI's functional areas to ensure alignment of efforts and continued progress towards achieving the INI's strategic goals, including the 2021 Strategic Plan, and the Director's vision.
Evaluating opportunities and making strategic recommendations to the Director of the INI in an advisory capacity in support of the Director's goals as the organization's leader.
Developing and leading the INI's Pittsburgh strategy to leverage our strengths, increase brand awareness and cultivate partnerships with local industry, government and organizations. This position will identify and fully develop potential opportunities in Pittsburgh to further the INI mission, strategic goals and the Director's efforts.
Ensuring the full integration of all INI activities, programs and operations across all campuses and locations, and facilitating clear and consistent communication between functional areas.
You will engage in a high level of collaboration within and outside the organization to support the INI mission through our strategic initiatives; provide exceptional customer service to all constituents including but not limited to faculty, staff, students and community at large; and contribute to the overall success of the INI.
You may also work on additional projects and perform other responsibilities as necessary in order to support and further the mission of the INI. Some evening and weekend hours as well as domestic and international travel is expected.
M.B.A. or a master's degree is required. Background in education and experience in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or another related area is preferred.
At least five to eight years of relevant experience required
