The Center for Urban and Regional Analysis, within the College of Arts and Sciences, seeks a GIS Research Analyst to join our team. The College of Arts and Sciences is the largest college and the academic heart of the university. The College hosts 81 majors. Develops and manages partnerships with local and state government and community organizations; works with center leadership and community partners on center’s strategic research directions and identifies research needs/opportunities involving GIS, mapping and geospatial data; meets regularly with community organizations and governmental leadership to determine research goals, benchmarks, and deliverables; manages activities and working relationships with community partners, identifying logistical needs and expectations; works closely with GIS users to identify research requirements within GIS; designs and develops web-based mapping tools and data dashboards in conjunction with research projects; manages open source spatial databases, GIS, and data analytic software; performs mapping, geovisualization, and spatial analysis of data; provides educational and outreach events to promote GIS and The Ohio State University’s urban mission, including workshops, presentations and community meetings; manages center’s subscription-based GIS and geospatial data analytical software services; manages ESRI software licenses and related resources across campus, including serving as the initial point of contact for ESRI software technical support; evaluates potential research projects for subscription service viability; acts as point of contact for technical and research support for subscription-based GIS and geospatial data analytical software services; works closely with center staff to maintain current information on subscribers, billing, and user assignments; other duties as assigned.

Geographic Information Science Professional Certification; experience with ESRIGIS Software Insights and Portal.
Target Salary: $48,500.00 - $54,000.00 Annually
