The Program Coordinator (Chinese Programs) will join a professional team of eight members of the Global Training Initiative (GTI) at NC State University's Centennial Campus in Raleigh, NC. The Program Coordinator will help identify, develop, and manage academic/training opportunities that primarily focus on Chinese students, faculty, and professionals. Work hours may include some evenings and weekends. Responsibilities include budgeting, bookkeeping, logistical arrangements, communications with clients and partners, marketing, curriculum development, instruction, and supervision of part-time employees and volunteers.
The Global Training Initiative (GTI) at NC State is a major unit within the Office of Global Engagement. The GTI provides short-term academic, cultural, and training programs for international and domestic students, scholars, and professionals. In addition, GTI partners with NC industry to promote internationalization and economic development of the citizens of NC. Minimum Education/experiential Requirements
Require post-baccalaureate credentials or a bachelor’s degree plus alternative or equivalent professional training and experience may be substituted for the advanced degree on an exceptional basis.
Proposed Minimum Education/Experience
Master’s degree in relevant field (e.g., Public Administration, Business, Higher Education, International Studies, Counseling, Communication, etc.,)
One or more years of full-time experience in developing and/or managing training programs
One or more years working in, for, or with a Chinese agency or institution
Department Preferred Requirements
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent rapport with industry professionals, government officials, faculty, higher education administrators, and international students
Familiarity with university settings in the US
Fluency in Chinese and English
Employment experience in Chinese industry or government or education institution
Positive employment history in US industry, academia, or government
Experience with accounting, contracts, grant-writing, negotiations
Ability to obtain NC drivers license is required. Driving, credit, and background checks will be performed. Ability, experience, and confidence in driving 11-14 passenger vans is preferred, but not required.
Additional Salary Information: Salary range mid $40s to mid $50s.
