Strategic Human Resource Business Advisor (1704809) - Research Triangle Park
The Strategic HR Business Advisor (SHRBA) will support his/her leadership team in the areas of Talent, Leadership, Organization and Culture. This position provides strategic HR leadership and guidance to assigned Research units: Bioscience Research (RB) and Advanced Materials & Systems Research (RA). The SHRBA is a business person - putting customers first and enabling a winning together environment.

The SHRBA acts as the principal advisor and strategic partner to the RB and RA Research Leaders on business, HR, and employment-related matters. The incumbent develops and integrates short and long term strategic human resources initiatives to support the business needs.This role reports into the Global HR Director, Bioscience Research, also located at the Research Triangle Park, North Carolina.
Formula for Success: You Will...
Provide data-driven insights for decision-making through strategic workforce planning; weigh the implications of trends and recommend revision or creation of new strategies; grow leader and manager capabilities; define selection criteria for key positions; and achieve effective organizational models for talent planning and improved engagement.
Develop regional talent strategy for the unit; know talent within their organization and of the competition, including where to find it. Hold full ownership of retention of critical talent in the unit. Closely involved in delegation planning—outbound and return—for the unit.
Build successful, diverse, and inclusive teams. Affirm leader accountability. Emphasize that applicant pools are diverse and include internal talent from across units, as well as talent from the external market. Ensure metrics are regularly analyzed and unit-relevant actions are proposed.
Coach unit leader(s) and their leadership team members in order to connect business strategy to people strategy, build capability, and for higher performance. Encourage thought and influence leadership, and reinforce accountability in the areas of Talent, Leadership, Organization, and Culture.
Develop, motivate, coach, and challenge for higher performance. Mentor early in career HR talent. Model and enable development of competencies required to implement BASF's Strategy 2025.
Drive and own business performance and outcomes. Understand and use business strategy to set direction and translate into human capital initiatives and organization design. Advise on organization development and harmonize delivery through partnerships with solution delivery teams and Centers of Excellence (CoEs). Provide planning, process and program management. Measure HR contributions to business performance.
Read situations and provide diagnosis for improvement. Identify interventions and furnish support for decision-making. Display end-to-end systems thinking and comfort with ambiguity. Create and leverage internal and external networks.
Balance organizational needs through conflicting priorities. Recognition of short-term versus long-term focus, centralized versus decentralized operations, and internal versus external focus. Provide input into the development of CoE programs and other critical talent solutions.
Put customers first by studying the industry and business DNA. Perform
analysis and gain insights about people and organizational effectiveness to support business decision-making. Serve as a leader of organizational change while displaying a OneHR mindset and remaining global-minded.
