This where you will do your life's best work.SM This candidate will be part of a 40 person team made up of Project Managers, Teradata and Web Developers, Data Modelers, DBAs, Business Analysts and Report Analysts. This candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, support and maintenance of all functions of Teradata relational database systems, including: database access, creation/maintenance of conceptual, logical and physical data models, and database solution design. In this role you will recommend and monitor overall standards and procedures, provide solution design guidance to other technical staff, and assist in integrating various systems. You will also consult with users, determine requirements, and recommend database establishment and utilization.
Required Qualifications: 5+ years Teradata v14+ experience as an Architect or Data Modeler5+ years logical and physical data modeling experience5+ years ETL using Teradata Utilities in a Unix/Linus environment5+ years performance tuning in a large database (>5TB) or data warehouse environment, using advanced SQL, DBQL and Explain plans5+ years with ERWin or other data modeling software5+ years working with technical developers to strategize solutions to align with business requirements3+ years working with end users/customers to understand requirements for technical solutions to meet business needs3+ years identifying and initiating resolutions to customer problems and concerns associated with a data warehouse3+ years analyzing project requirements and developing detailed specifications3+ years defining standards and best practices and conducting code reviews3+ years developing service and adhoc oriented data modelsBachelor's degree or equivalent work experience Preferred Qualifications: Experience as a Teradata DBATeradata v14/15 certificationExperience working with Data Modelers and developers, facilitating modification of the logical design to create a physical design most suited to the reporting needs of the customer Ability to design applications taking into consideration data reconciliation, (to the source system) query/reporting performance, and analytical business value.Meet with users for clarification and elaboration as may be necessary to clearly define a problem and conceptualize a development plan.Recognize, gather, correlate, and analyze facts, draw conclusions, define problems, and devise solutions and alternatives and make appropriate recommendations.Experience in a state government environmentMedicaid/Medicare or Healthcare industry experienceExperience with Teradata SQL AssistantExperience facilitating meetings and providing presentations to customers and senior leadersExperience with the State of Michigan PMM/SUITE methodologyExperience with Agile methodologiesExperience with Teradata AsterExperience with Hadoop Careers with Optum.
